[Naver/Theqoo] Review on "Delight by Baekhyun on Cine21

Review:

The moment I heard the prelude of the first song, "Candy", I felt it. "Oh, you're going to like this album." A drowsy voice whispers through the synth sounds that go up and down transparently. 'I respect that appetite/'I have been waiting a moment for you to choose me/ I'll become something special, so you would come to me.'

EXO's main vocalist Baekhyun's second solo work “Delight” is a trustworthy album that maintains skillful and flexible attitudes under two distinct goals from beginning to end. One is a collection of sophisticated R&B pops. The other one is sweet in every respect.

He expressed his deep interest and affection for the R&B genre through his solo debut, “City Lights”, which was released last year, and he also wholeheartedly selected various types of future, urban, and alternative R&B that are also gaining popularity recently in “Delight”.

If you are a person who likes R&B that flows gently down your ears, 7 songs on a display, which are so beautifully displayed that you can't just pass by, are not only visually pleasing but also tasty.

The sophisticated R&B tune, which is created at the fingertips of strong Korean composers such as Kenzie, Deez, minGtion, and Colde, etc., as well as regular foreign composers representing SM Song Camp such as Mitchell Owens and Stereotypes, etc., harmonizes with Baekhyun's voice, which has been practiced for 8 years since his debut with the group EXO, and repeats itself throughout the album. "R U Ridin’?" with stand-out urban sound, "Underwater" where the deep sense of space brings the image of deep sea stimulating five senses, "Ghost" with addictive dance-able triple rhythm, etc., every single song is perfect.

Add to this the cute sense of referring to himself as 'Candy', not a partner who is yearned for, and perhaps this is a customized candy basket recently prepared for listeners who want to get safe delight with safe sweetness.

In that sense, “Delight” is both a good R&B album and a good idol pop album. The album's charming point is one step higher. It's an intelligent, pleasantly shining album in various ways.

Comments:

Naver:

- Baekhyun's "Delight" album is good to listen to, it's good even just by looking at, and it is the album that the more you listen to it, the better it is.

- "Candy" is good, but all the b-sides in this album are crazy, too. "Bungee", "Love Again", "Poppin", etc., are fun to listen to. I think it's an album that even lyrics are perfect. "Candy"'s audio is great, but the video (MV) is so wow... I think it doubles the sweetness of candy by adding the taste of watching to the taste of listening.

- He sings so well that you can feel how it is sophisticated and feel comfortable when you listen to him.

- I like all the songs in Baekhyun's "Delight" album. ~ A singer who gives delight with his songs~ I think Baekhyun's vocal cords are the best.

- I totally agree with the article. As I listened to it, I felt that it was a flawlessly, very well-made album. First of all, he picked good songs and above all, I think it's the result of Baekhyun's solid and emotional vocals.

- The title song is good but the b-sides are also really good.

- Trust-to-listen Baekhyun, I look forward to your next album.

Theqoo:

- I like R&B.

- Oh the review is good.

- It's really an album that makes you feel good.

It's cute how he calls himself Candy. I agree on this part.

- The album is really a masterpiece. First of all, his vocal skills are great, the quality of songs are freaking good. If you listen to the whole album, you would tell it's a well-made album.

- All the reviews for his album are good...whenever it is posted.

- All the songs are good and Baekhyun's ability to digest is the best.
