After finishing school, Hakhoon, Jaejoong, Hanbyul, Sangmin, Kyungjae, Sangwook and I hurriedly ran to Gilju park. Hakhoonie and Jaejoongie did rock, paper, scissors to divide teams. I was in a team with Hakhoon, Sangmin, and Kyungjae. But, Kyungjae is so tall that he was heading the flying ball. Hakhoonie is short, however, he has speed and kept looking for the ball at all costs. And time flew, some high school students came and said, “Let us play too”. We couldn’t help but let those hyungs play with us. But those hyungs only watched the keeper, they didn’t kick or shoot the ball. That was because if they kicked the ball with their feet, we would get injured. Those hyungs were nice hyungs.

When Baekhyun was in middle school, he took private lessons from a teacher, so he came to their house many times. He came to take lessons but he talked a lot. The teacher was like ~Baekhyun-ah, let’s have our lesson now~ but he was like ~ah, ssem (teacher)~~ and he kept babbling. It was during the lesson, but he pretended to be a celebrity and said these expressions in this pictorial were interesting and he followed and posed like that. He danced very funny. But he also liked kids. He plopped down on the floor cuddling the son of the teacher, reading fairy tales for the baby and wiped his saliva. (the teacher’s child posted this with a signature from Baekhyun)

In middle school, Baekhyun was a mood maker when the atmosphere in his class went down. There was a day, during the 6th class (the last class of the day), something bad happened and the class atmosphere was going down, so during Baekhyun’s cleaning time, he was blowing a rubber glove and put on his head and walking around pretending to be a chicken. He also made a sound imitating a chicken. 

Baekhyun was studying very well. His personality was nice and he was good many stuff.

Around 2005-2007, secondary school students did this customized hairstyle. When they went to institute, after enrolling, they took a photo on the spot.

14 years old (2005)

There was an anecdote telling that they didn’t sell well, so Baekhyun sold his phone number and the stuff got sold out after 1 minute. He told them only texted him before 10PM ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 

+++ Another version: At a school festival, Byun Baekhyun’s class couldn’t sell their bazaar stuff well, so 4 of his friends stepped in to sell. At that time, Byun Baekhyun went up on a table and said if they could sell out their stuff, he would give out his phone number. Then they managed to sell out within a minute? While he was giving out his phone number, he said “Don’t text me after 10pm, oppa has to grow taller!!” I heard that he replied to everyone (didn’t leave out anyone’s text).

Baekhyun was totally a playful boy. He liked to come outside standing? Friends usually teased him like ~Byun Baekhyun comes outside standing again~     

Baekhyun was so popular and he was even more popular after he participated in a talent show. Friends told Baekhyun that he had to go and recommended him, so he joined the show.   

Also, when they had school lunch, his friend got water into a cup to drink, Baekhyun took the cup away and drank it. The friend is said to suffer from it every day.  

During break time, Baekhyun and his friends ate bubblegum and had battles to see who would blow a bigger bubble.   

Baekhyun told his friends that he would become a singer since middle school. He created his own signature, then signed into his friends’ workbooks. While he was signing, he asked them ~What’s your name?~ His friend (OP’s coworker) was very sad because he threw that paper away.

Fans must already know. Baekhyun oppa is a Bucheon boy. I’m a Bucheon girl.

In middle school, I was in Year 1 when Baekhyun oppa was in Year 3.

Baekhyun oppa was one of the playful oppas. That’s what I remember.

He was very popular. He was at school festival and the bazaar too.

Junghueng Middle school was that school that had the most students in Bucheon. So the auditorium was also quite big.
Year 2 and Year 3 were in the First floor. Year 1 was in the Second floor. Baekhyun oppa and his friends came up on stage to sing. There were 3 of them.

 Oh he did very well. But it’s such a pity that I didn’t remember the song.
At the time for the bazaar, oppa’s class sold their clothes.

But they didn’t sell well and there were a lot left. Thus Baekhyun oppa and his friends took a move. They got up on a table and started selling.
But they still couldn’t sell them. They only gathered all the people. That’s why Baekhyun oppa put a skirt on his tallest friend. That was a white Shalala one skirt.
Then, they sold one by one. But if they wanted to sell everything out, it was still far away.

So, Baekhyun oppa said “If everything is sold, I’ll give out my phone number!”
Then everything was sold out in a minute.
He gave out his phone number. A man who kept his promise. I also noted it down.

But while he was saying his phone number, he said “Don’t text me after 10pm, oppa has to grow tall”

I also texted him. As he was like a star, I also wanted to try once. Of course he didn’t ignore it.

Baekhyun graduated from Middle school

It was famous to bite a rose in a mouth when taking graduating photo back then. 

JungHeung Middle school’s summer uniform was told to look like clothes of a cleaning man, so they changed to a new one in around 2009.

Nowadays JungHeung uniform is different.

4. (Long-awaited) High school

In High school, a female classmate had bad eyesight and she didn’t wear glasses. During class, she was trying to narrow her eyes to see the clock(time) but she couldn’t see. Baekhyun saw that, then raising his 3 fingers and mouthed 3 o’clock to her. She got a crush on him after that.

Baekhyun is said to be the one who greeted every student at the hallway in high school even though they weren’t close friends. OP said Baekhyun was her first love and he was very popular and many students were fond of him. He was like a person who was worth liking. If she could go back to their school days, she still liked him like that. She said he was playful, handsome and nice. He tended to make people feel heart-fluttering. She got heart fluttering for days just because he waved at her once. She used to hate going to school, but only if there was Baekhyun, she might come out in the hallway so she might happen to see him. She said he is still cool back then and even now.

 In high school, Baekhyun tent to take care of his team mate very well. There was a day his team mate didn’t bring their pencil case and they were nervous. Then Baekhyun lent them his pencil case. His team mate was touched but Baekhyun told them to take notes for him too.

“There was a time I heard a story about Baekhyun when he was in high school from my teacher. During class time, Baekhyun was chatting with another friend. The teacher told them to get out of class, so the other friend told teacher that he didn’t chat. Meanwhile Baekhyun apologized teacher saying ~ I won’t talk anymore ㅠㅠㅠ please??~ he’s cute. In Bucheon, there was a talent contest for teenagers, Baekhyun won the grand prize with his JungWon High school band called ‘혼수상태’ (Unconscious State). The song was ‘Love Foolosophy’ by Jamiroquai 

Bucheon MF Practical Music Academy’s Vocal Byun Baekhyun won the grand prize at Bucheon City Youth Art Festival.

This year 2009 Byun Baekhyun (student of Professor Yoo Jinha) won the grand prize at Bucheon City Youth Art Festival. He also participated as a representative at Gyeonggi-do Province Festival. 

There were 821 people participating in the contest, Baekhyun won the grand prize of Vocal category (there are varied categories).

Baekhyun was qualified and recommended for the final at the Gyeonggi-do Province as a representative for Bucheon City.

There was a MF Practical Music Academy in Bucheon holding a concert to celebrate its 10th anniversary and Baekhyun passed the audition then he performed on the stage.

Baekhyun whose talents aren’t hidden. When Baekhyun was in high school, he loudly sang Noel’s songs at the school hallway every day. Many people said he was cute and funny. He was very popular. Baekhyun said he would become a singer every day. Baekhyun signed and put his signature into his friends’ hands. But his friends didn’t take it and jokingly told Baekhyun to buzz off. Now even if they wanted it, they couldn’t get it. 

Among old photos, the red fleece that has been seen a lot was his trademark. Until now, whenever that unnie sees that kind of clothes, she thinks of Byun Baekhyun only. When he went to school, he didn't carry his bag properly, and he didn't have pencil case. He didn't study very well. In fact he didn't study rather than not studying well. When I saw his old photos, I said he wasn't good-looking, and that unnie said ~no, even in the past he was also a heart-warming handsome guy~ I told her I looked at his photos and it wasn't like that, then she told me his skin was fcking nice, he was popular to girls and she was also fond of him. 

When that unnie was crying because of her boyfriend, Baekhyun came and he was doing very funny dance moves, and told her not to cry. As he told her that, she was crying and laughing at the same time. Then he told her "If you are crying while laughing, you will grow hair on your butt" (t/n: a common Korean saying). That unnie's boyfriend is also a friend of Baekhyun.

In his school too, he was close to others without any exception, and even when he didn't study, the teachers still adored him. She said he was very noisy, he couldn't stay still or be quiet for even just a moment. He is cute.

When I was working in Bucheon, there were also time when I worked by myself. I was really playing EXO's song every single day. There were also some regular customers, they came at the same time every weekend and ordered waffle. Because I played EXO's song every day, so there was a day, they asked me "Are you EXO's fan? Some anecdotes I translated but I don't know what the timeline was:

++ In Baekhyun’s school days, he was talkative, cheerful and he liked to hang out with other people, so he was close to everyone at school. He was a mischievous guy who liked to joke with other male friends but his heart was of a nice kid. In class, there was a female student who was overweight and she was shocked because she was called a pig. Baekhyun saw that and said “Y’all those words are harsh, shut up”.

++ Baekhyun wore shorts in the summer and some girls said his legs were pretty. He covered his legs and said “These perverts!!”

++ When Baekhyun was a student, during a break at school, he rubbed his leg hair and said “Someone ordered Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles)”. His friends said “It is dirty”.
Another version is: When Baekhyun was sitting at the schoolyard, he saw his leg hair and told his friends who were there “Someone ordered Jjajangmyeon”

++ Baekhyun had a nickname that is ‘The ruler of hallway” during school days.

++ There was a classmate who was like an outsider in Baekhyun’s class. Baekhyun saw his/her drawing, and praised her for drawing very well. He asked that friend to draw for him and he put the drawing on the corner of his table. He was proud saying to other friends that XXX drew it for him.
