Review on Baekhyun's 'Delight' by music critic LRO (LiRiO)

Editable Fantasy, Baekhyun and [Delight]

[Delight], as songs of similar genre or style, aims for easily and comfortably listening R&B. This is true even when compared to his previous work. Avoiding all the sources that may sound sharp, and adjusting the sound softly and richly. Instead of pushing SM Entertainment's unique and densely stacked sound layers head on, it also has the flexibility to deliver synesthesia to a certain extent.

"Candy," faintly spreads sensuous synth sounds on deep bass, is literally the 'title' that represents the musical keynote this album is aiming for. Since the background sound is spread out widely and condense, even if Baekhyun's soft vocals are often transformed into sharp sounds, only relaxed grooves remain instead of sharp tension.

With the impression of rich sound from the first track, "R U Ridin?" is somewhat neutralized by the distinct base and distinct texture conveyed by the vocals.

In the third track "Bungee," once again it releases the cohesive texture with vintage sound sources and relaxed rhythms and controls the tempo.

Even in the second half of the album, the dreamy synth sounds and stable rhythms appropriately play a variation on the big flow, and adjust the force in full detail with the often-popping-out acoustic sounds and Baekhyun's expert vocals.

The arrangement of the force-controlled songs with an iconic track list behind looks more like a "playlist" than an "album." The sound adjustment and variation, which minimizes the burden of listening to seven tracks, is also a good arrangement for a traditional album, but it can also be considered as the characteristic of a YouTube radio or playlist that repeatedly plays songs of similar genres or styles and induces continuous impression. It's especially true considering the fact that hip hop R&B, which Baekhyun shows through his solo album, is used or set up as the theme of such a playlist.

Sound mixing, which has become richer compared to his previous work, dramatic melody variation minimization, urban images and textures are all new well-formed music appreciation rules that are centered on YouTube.
