Theqoo: What Baekhyun wants to say to friends who are preparing or starting to be idols
Q: Is there anything you want to say to friends who dream of becoming an idol?
Baekhyun: Everyone is living very fiercely competitive life. It must be tiring for friends who work so hard all the time whether it is in the morning, evening, and at dawn, so I want to cheer them on. I want to keep supporting them and I think mental management is the most important thing. I think you are the only one who can manage your mentality. A lot of people don't know exactly what their own images are like when they start. When they see other senior singers, they might think, "Oh, this is how I should do it", "Oh, if I do this, fans would like it." They might mix up this with that, but it would make they feel more tired. They don't know who they are, and as other people have done it all, so they might think "I also need be bright and high tension" or "I should show my kind image". My image in fact...(Yoo Jaesuk's speech) In my early debut days, I think I had a image of a bit forced tension. (rough trans)
Comments:
- That is really a really important piece of advice because it's a world that they start when they are young.
- It is helpful not only for idols but also for other job seekers.
- Same thought.
- Because they think they would be loved by imitating others' images, they might end up throwing away what they can shine on their own.
- He has experienced it himself, so it sounds more honest.
- I can feel his worries and growth in his words. I think he is a good idol.
- Those are nice words.
- My idol loved Baekhyun so much. I think he himself is deep and cool. I also felt it before, but I can feel it better after watching the video. That's a good advice.
- He talks so well.
- I got goosebumps because I feel what he said so much.
- What he said works with human relationships and social life, too. True words.
- What he said works for all even if one isn't idol.
- My favorite idol once said this. They said they had been thinking too much between "I who people like" and "I who I like". If it’s the former one, they are loved as an idol, and it's worth it because fans are happy. but they said there was something that couldn't be filled with just that. They have been through growing, suffered from a lot of pains and hardships... And they finally found the answer. Let's live as "I who I like." To live as yourself. This is really important. I become fond of Baekhyun as he talked about something similar to my idol. I think I'll become his fan.
- It's true. Even if you follow other people's good behavior, it is tiring after less than a year. I have to be a good person as much as I can.
- I'm a job seeker. I almost cried when I heard that.

Theqoo: EXO Baekhyun learned two things from SM when he was a rookie
1. Greeting well.
"You need to greet well"
"Show the loudest voice you can make"
2. Being careful of scammers.
"The more successful you are, the more scammers will come to you"
"If you really don't know, ask the company"
Comments:
- They teach them well.
- They teach them good things.
- Those are facts.
- The second one for real.
- They are taught key points only. All are true words.
- Those are the most important.
- Being careful of scammers... but what if there are scammers at company?
- Maybe that's a lesson that SM learned after suffering.
- But they are right. There are things you learn after you are taught, but since there have been a lot of unknown things, so they give you that advice.
- Even a manager can be a scammer too. We can't trust anyone in this world.
- That's really helpful in my life. If something isn't right, it is reliable that they can ask the company.
- But these are two things that are necessary in the social life of ordinary people as well.
- It's a real-life tip. I remember when they introduced EXO-K on the first music show in their debut days, their voices were very loud.
- SM idols are very good at greeting.
- Baekhyun's facial line is very smooth.
- That sounds good. It looks like they need that kind of education. SM seems to be a fine company for artist.
- Meanwhile Baekhyun looks cute.
- It's good that the company plays a role where they can ask such questions... I don't know much about the law or the administration, so there are times I don't know what I should do.
Daum: Different reactions at concert between Asian fans and Western fans
American or Europe fans: dancing along together like a party. Feeling music with whole body.
Asian fans: Very loud to the extent can be heard in in-ears.
Comments:
- I want to dance too, but there is no space in the standing zone, Baekhyun-ah.
> Yeah, I want to have fun too.
> If we dance, we would hear people saying "Don't push". It's already fortunate that we can stand peacefully.
- If I dance, they would knock my back.
- Japan: being silent.
- Japan is silent. Once the concert ends, they will clap like at a classic performance.
- Japan is really quiet. There are sometimes fanchants but they come from Korean fans only.
- Going to concert in Japan and fck I was doing fanchant but those Japanese fans in front of me glowered me so I became quiet.
- Is it a culture that concerts in Japan are usually quiet? Every time I see Japanese fans, I'm amazed.
- Oh a member of another group also said western fans were dancing along and they liked it. Our country needs to give us a bigger space, too.
- I want to go to concerts in American or Europe. They dances and it would be fun.
- Korea is the best.
- Japan is really quiet but they are noisy when members talk. They know nothing about fanchants.
- I want to go to concerts in Europe.
