I came to watch "Singing In The Rain" musical! Honestly I went without much expectation. Baekhyun is an idol, and this is his first musical, and it's also his first performance, so it's ridiculous to expect him to do as well as a musical actor.
First of all, Baekhyun's acting... except for the big mistake at the end, it was beyond than I expected. It's impossible for an idol to do pronunciation and vocalization of musical sound all of a sudden, unless he's a genius, so if you take that into consideration, his acting and singing naturally melt into the flow of the play. Especially, his playful expressions and actions were very humorous. Sometimes he stammered, but it was probably because he was nervous as it was his first performance, overall, it wasn't like the lines went smoothly the whole play, other actors were also stuttering that much. The actor who played Cosmo Brown, a close friend of Don Lockwood, made a mistake, and the two of them quickly moved on with a joke and they did it very well. As he did the Act 1 well, he was better than I thought and I was like "Oh he was okay than expected". I watched Act 2. He did Act 2 in the play was as well as Act 1.
Anyway, "Singing In The Rain" wasn't bad today. Baekhyun's acting was beyond my expectation, and he worked well with the female actor, and most of all, watching him work with his best friend Cosmo played by actor Yook Hyunwook, made me feel that he practiced really hard and I liked that. If he didn't let go of the tension and caught the full sense of the performance until the curtain call was over, I don't think there would be any more ridiculous mistakes like today.

Baekhyun who appeared full of nervousness, wore a white coat and a white fedora.
I was like "Is it really Baekhyun?" and kept staring at him. I think it looks like he borrowed his dad's clothes. There is a part where his pronunciation keeps leaking because of his obvious nervous looks.
When he pronounced 'siot' and when he said the names of actors, he tried to speak fast but he couldn't. I was also so nervous while watching him. I couldn't take my eyes off the tap dance he did with Cosmo. Wow, it feels like "You must have practiced a lot. But you must be nervous now, right?" That's when I started to feel emotional. Why does it feel like I don't watch it as an audience but with a heart of a mom...
In fact, I have watched a lot musicals and I don't choose the first performance unless I am a fan of the actor. It's because the lack of teamwork with actors and awkwardness can be shown. It's also because why do I have to spend the money to see such a clumsy performance. But I'm a fan of that actor right now. It's natural that I want to be in that moment because it's his first stage of a new challenge. In fact, even musical actors and actresses who have been on stage a lot sometimes forget their lines and are out of breathe and stay away from the ensemble. If you look at that, Baekhyun did a really good job on the first stage of his life.
Even in the scene where he put his own coat on Brown, the actor who played Brown put in his wrong arm, so he couldn't wear it. Baekhyun smiled and said, "Hyung, how do you wear it?" and the other actor laughed and said, "I'm going to wear it on my own"
It's a joke, right? He wasn't in panic.
And I was happy to see him singing on stage because he was shining. When part 1 closed, he was singing ~Singing In the Rain~ alone in the rain. It was good even to die on the spot.
Anyway, the first performance ended safely. Maybe if he can monitor it, he will see what he can fix. I think he will be better day by day. The puppy who did so well that I'm proud of him. He is pretty, our Baekhyunie. Baekhyun, who was spraying water on the audience during the curtain call, looked like an angel and mischievous guy.

First of all, I was surprised because Baekhyun sings better than I thought. Baekhyun's voice suits musical well. During the break, another blogger and their relatives kept asking if it was live singing.
Honestly, Baekhyun chewed up lines and stuttered several times. At that time, my immersion was slightly broken, but I would like to praise him on other parts. People say they just saw Baekhyun, but I think because of Baekhyun's original beagle personality, when he was acting with the actor who played Don Lockwood's friend, Baekhyun's expressions came out naturally. There is no awkwardness in dancing because he is a dance singer, especially since it's his first time, Baekhyun's talent is worth praising.
Even when he must have been really nervous because it was his first time, but when he made a mistake, he didn't panic, and he moved on smoothly. That is the part where I thought Baekhyun was a celebrity and a professional. He didn't make many mistakes during the first performance as I thought, so I'm looking forward to his last performance. I think he will get better.

It was three happy hours because I was able to be with Baekhyun in his first ever musical. I'm sure other Baekhyun fans were the same, but I was very nervous. As soon as Baekhyun first appeared, strangely enough, I felt relieved right away. Because he does so well. Baekhyun was in front of my eyes, his acting was that good, and his dancing and singing were impressive, so I wanted to explode all the time. It was the performance where there were the most mistakes I've ever seen, but the satisfaction level was also the highest. The first time is precious, right?
When he and Cosmo did "Fit as a Fiddle", he was really tongue-tied. Tap dance is also tap dance, but his expression was smiley, then sticking out his mouth, making a funny face, then shaking his head mischievously, I can't express it as he is just a final boss of mischievousness. The lyrics that Baekhyun picked as his most favorite, "I think my heart is going to fly in the sky", comes out at this scene number, but as soon as I hear it, I get emotional... I thought it is worth liking by Baekhyun. I like it, too, Baekhyun-ah. Overall, I liked all the scenes where he is put with Cosmo. "Moses Supposes" and "Good Morning" are great too.
Baekhyun's voice is freaking sweet in his first solo, "You Stepped Out of a Dream". I thought Baekhyun would not look good in real life because his real age is younger than Don Lockwood, but I don't know if he is a good actor or he's completely transformed into Don Lockwood, I didn't feel the awkwardness and the sense of incompatibility as I thought. I can't say Baekhyun has a good chemistry with Kathy, but Lockwood of Baekhyun really does... Baekhyun whom I call baby baby every day made my heart flutter. Manly Kyoongwood is soft, sweet and trustworthy.
Personally, I thought the prettiest scene was "You Were Meant For Me", a scene of confession on the stage set. There is a ballet-like dance here, and Baekhyun's facial expression and dancing with fingers and feet are so beautiful. There are several dance moves to lift up Kathy, and I was just amazed and proud to see Baekhyun dance like this. I just watched him with a happy heart. Baekhyun, I love you.
"Moses Supposes", this is really good. Baekhyun's tap dance while smiling, and he matches well with Cosmo. He jokes with the pronunciation teacher and sing. It was the best. I thought he must have practiced a lot. "Good Morning" is also good. All I have to say is that it's really good.

If I start from a conclusion, it was beyond my expectation.
- Vocalization/dialogue: he sang cleanly. It was just Baekhyun's voice. He chewed up lines a little.
- Acting: Baekhyun is an idol and his role in the musical is a movie star, so I think he played a similar role to himself, so his acting was lively.
- Tap dance: He is good. When he did tap dance, I just looked at his feet. If compared to the person next to him, he did really well. Not only Baekhyun but also other actors' tap dancing was cool. They were amazing. I've never seen tap dancing before.
- Conclusion: It feels like I watched a play with music rather than a musical. Um...It was his first musical, and it was his first performance, but wow, he did a great job. It's really perfect. I personal found it was really good.

Aside from everything else, Baekhyun wasn't awkward on stage at all. I think this is really important. An actor acts and sings as another person on stage. The most important thing is not that he sings well or he acts well, but how confidently he is acting and immersing in that character. It's awkward if the actor doesn't get into the character, or he doesn't pay attention. Baekhyun, whose musical is his first time, was not awkward at all on stage. Rather, he was showing a unique color of Don Lockwood.
Especially, I want to praise Baekhyun for putting a lot of emotion into singing rather than acting. There was a sense of instability, but it was pleasant enough, and sometimes there was a sentimental feeling. Especially, his unique tone was very attractive. It shines even among many other musical actors.
The reason why I was able to immerse into "Singing In The Rain" is not because of Baekhyun himself on the stage but it is because Baekhyun was immersed into Don Lockwood. There is totally no appearance of Baekhyun as a singer at all. He had no hesitation in acting, and he looked really happy when he sang and danced. He is an actor who can be happy without being afraid of the stage has a very frightening power to bring the audience up to the stage and make them happy and immerse together.
